In this feature-length independent film, three women seek treatment for various ailments at a yogi rehabilitation ranch in the Tucson desert.
A phrase from Gaston Bachelard’s The Poetics of Space – “under cover of a color” – served as my guiding concept for the film’s art direction: While scenes on the ranch are bleached of colour and suffused with natural sun and moonlight, flashbacks and off-ranch events contain saturated, lurid colours and are lit by harsh fluorescents.
Written and directed by Ariadne Huque; starring Maria de Medeiros, Portia de Rossi and Brooke Smith; Art direction by Essicka Kimberly; film stills by Dagny Yousuf
